POE-g-GMA Polyester Toughener with High Reactivity

COACE's W510 is a grafted product containing glycidyl methacrylate functional groups. The polyolefin elastomer is used as the base material. It has high reactivity, low residue, and a white to white translucent granular appearance.It is both a polyester toughening agent and a polyester alloy compatibilizer.
Designed polymeric substance the POE-g-GMA polyester toughener combines glyidyl methacrylate (GMA) functional groups onto a polyolefin elastomer basis. This grafted structure gives the toughener extraordinary reactivity so enabling it to create strong chemical connections with a range of polyester substrates, so improving the mechanical characteristics of the final blend.

A polyolefin elastomer with great flexibility, processability, and polymers compatibility forms the backbone of the POE-g-GMA polyester toughener. Introduced using a regulated grafting technique, the GMA functional groups give the toughener great reactivity. Highly reactive with nucleophiles, such the hydroxyl groups found in polyesters, these epoxy groups help covalent bonds to develop and enhance interfacial adhesion.
