High Grafted Fire Retardant Toughener for PBT PET

W5AD is a glycidyl methacrylate modified polyolefin elastomer with high grafted rate.
The foundation of our High Grafted Fire Retardant Toughener is a polyolefin elastomer that has undergone high grafting rate modified with glycidyl methacrylate. Strong interfacial interaction is created by covalent bonding of the POE-g-GMA with the hydroxyl end groups of PBT and PET due to the epoxy groups present.
By reacting with the PBT/PET matrix, the epoxy groups of the POE-g-GMA improve the elastomeric phase's dispersion and produce a stable graft copolymer. This reaction raises compatibility and helps the blend be more fire retardant.
1. Excellent Compatibility: Phase separation is reduced and the mechanical characteristics of the blend are improved by the reactive epoxy groups of GMA-POE ensuring strong interfacial adhesion with PBT/PET.
2. Enhanced Fire Resistance: The PBT/PET blends are naturally flame resistant since fire retardant components are included into the toughener chemistry.
3. Increased Mechanical Strength: By combining toughness and rigidity, the toughener greatly enhances the tensile and impact strengths of the PBT/PET blends.
4. Chemical Resistance: By conferring greater resistance to a range of chemicals, the modified polyolefin elastomer extends the range of applications for PBT/PET mixes.
5. Thermal Stability: Processing of the PBT/PET blends at higher temperatures without sacrificing material integrity is made possible by the high grafting rate.
