Coace® W5B

Product Description
Coace® W5B is a chemically modified ethylene-acrylate copolymer with a high content of epoxy groups and an extremely low glass transition temperature. This product is designed to provide superior performance in a variety of industrial applications, including as a toughener, compatibilizer, and adhesive. It appears as white granules with a density of 0.91 g/cm³ and a melt flow rate of 3-8 g/10min (measured at 190°C with a 2.16 kg load), ensuring excellent processability. Its high glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) content significantly enhances its compatibility, bonding strength, and mechanical properties in polyester and plastic alloy compounds.

 

Specific Applications

1. Toughener for Polyester Compounds
   Coace® W5B is highly effective as a toughener for polyester and fire-retardant-filled polyester compounds, such as PET, PBT, PET/FR, and PBT/FR, improving impact resistance and durability.

2. Compatibilizer for Plastic Alloys
   This product functions as an excellent compatibilizer for PC/PBT, PC/PET, and other plastic alloy systems, enhancing compatibility and mechanical performance.

3. Adhesive for Laminate Structures
   Coace® W5B can be used as an adhesive in certain laminate structures, providing strong bonding strength and versatility in multilayer applications.
